For me, doing the right thing was something that was instilled in me at young age. I find it hard to imagine stealing, or destroying property. Its just wrong to me. But apparently not everyone was raised that way. Last night at the Red Wings game, our car was broken into by someone smashing in the drivers side front window. And they stole my new iPod and my new phone. Of course, I do take some blame in this… I did leave the iPod out in plain view. Im kicking myself because I NEVER do this. I dont even leave it in the car when I am at home. It was just a fluke. I thought I had the phone in my pocket but I must have left it in the car as well. I cant believe I did this, but there is nothing I can do about it now.
What really gets me is that the person that stole the stuff, had the audacity to call my fiance from my phone while we were at the game. Of course, this really confused us because I was sitting right next to him. I couldnt even enjoy the last bit of the game, because I was too worried about what happened to my phone, and hoping our jeep was still there in the parking lot.
And to top it all off, this scum-of-the-earth decided to randomly go through my phone and call people. Quite a few of my friends were a little confused when I was calling them last night… and there was some man on the other line. They have said he was pretty creepy. Im really upset that they have pictures of me, my daughter, my fiance, of my life basically. And they have all of my friends and family’s phone numbers. It just gives me this sense of insecurity.
Fortunately nothing else was stolen. We do feel very grateful for that, but at the same time angry that it even happened.
I guess I did learn a lesson through all of this….Hopefully karma will come and kick some ass for me.
