I am getting the receptionist at my work fired! I know that sounds completely horrible. I never in my life thought I would be a person to get someone fired. But it has to be done for the sake of my SANITY…. and really everyone elses in the office. She’s young, one year out of high school and her father is a big customer of ours. (Now I sound worse don’t I?). Anyways, she’s not very friendly, nor good at any computer program. She doesnt give messages, or sort mail. She cannot answer the phones properly and she has been here one year! When she started it was a non-paying “internship” if you want to call it that. Basically her father asked us to give her a job for free so she can get some experience on her resume. A year later… she is still here. She has improved slightly…but if after a year, you can barely manage to transfer a phone call to someone, or at the very least give them their messages… you should NOT be a receptionist! So next month when she starts school she is finished. (I’m doing a little happy dance in my head). Now I will finally get the support that I need so I can get everything done. It will be wonderful.
OH, and I posted the job listing on Craigslist and I received about 20 resumes in the first half hour. And surprisingly, many of them are actually good.
On a completely off topic note: I found this link about the Navy challenge physical fitness tests. The hubbs does it regularly since he is the “special warfare” recruiter / coordinator guy. Basically he turns young people that join the Navy and want to be in the special warfare program into fit running, swimming, push-up doing machines. Go babe
